Here We Are
We smoked cigars, play guitars
On the porch at home
Watching drunks and rovers
stumble to their drinking hole
The hooting and hollering
is keeping us away
Revving engines, screeching tires,
and honking all the way
A few beers in
and our vow starts to fade
The roar of the crowd
begs to drink the night away
Just a couple of drinks and
We'll gladly bid adieu
No need for reservations
We'll only have a few
Here we are once again
Will it ever end?
With Cheers! and Beers!
So good to see our friends
Here we are once again
Living in the past
Another round I swear to God
tonight will be the last
The pub is full of drunks
and we've seen them all before
The ramblers and the gamblers,
and the giant at the door
Beer soaked wood fumes
linger in the air,
But if the pints and drams are flowing
Do we really care?
A few drinks in
and we need another round
But in between the bar and us
is everyone in town
The bartender yells
Hey my favorite drunks are here
Come on down I'll pour you up
A whiskey and a beer
Here we are once again
Will it ever end?
With Cheers! and Beers!
So good to see our friends
Here we are once again
Living in the past
Another round I swear to God
tonight will be the last
Time is flying by
And the hour is getting late
We’re slurring all our words
But we think we’re looking great
The tab adds up
But we’ll never shed a tear
Our pockets may be empty
But our hearts are full of cheer
Time to find the exit
For our ride is nearly done
For when we wake we’re gonna
Howl and curse the morning sun
Tomorrow is a new day
I swear we’ll stay away
We hear the barkeep laugh
and say I hear it every day!
Here we are once again
Will it ever end?
With Cheers! and Beers!
So good to see our friends
Here we are once again
Living in the past
Another round I swear to God
tonight will be the last
